The participant learns how to care and handle a horse on the job. The program caters for a range of skill levels. The content delivered in the program is created to suit the level of the participants follow Equestrian Australia EA Introductory and Level 1 Certificates.
Wattle Creek offers horse riding workshops each school holidays. These workshops run for three consecutive days, four hours each session and are held in the school holidays from 8.00am to 12.00pm and include a private 30min riding lesson each day. Our workshops are designed to show riders what it would be like to own their own horse and all the work it entails to care for and look after a horse.

Hoofbeats runs for 9 weeks on a Saturday for 3hrs following the school terms. Term 1 & 4 – 2.30pm to 5.30pm Term 2 & 3 – 2.00pm to 5.00pm Each Saturday the riders have a private 30 minute horse riding lesson and then the rest of the time is spent learning, hands on, how to care for horses. This includes horse management activities which the riders work through at their own pace, these activities cover horse care, horse behaviour and stable management in addition to their riding achievements. On the last Saturday of each term a Gymkhana is held in the afternoon for all horse riders, with ribbons to be won by all and trophies for “Hardest Worker” and “Most Improved Rider” which are presented at the end of term break-up party. “Certificates of Achievement” are also awarded for the Horse Management Activities at the end of each term as the horse riders work through the Hoofbeats Syllabus.
EA Introductory Certificate Term Group for over 12yrs - 9 weeks on a Saturday morning for 3 hrs with a private riding lesson each week. Follows the School Term. Summer – 7.00am to 10.00am Winter – 7.30am to 10.30am Wattle Creek offers the required training and assessment for the Equestrian Australia Riding and Horse Management Certificates (you don’t need to own a horse to complete these certificates).
